Summer Theatre Camp

In a fun setting, students will dive into all things theatre while putting together a full production. They’ll enjoy theatre games, singing, dancing, and character work, leading up to performances in the final week. It’s all about acting, singing, and having a great time! Even auditions are low-stress and learning-focused. Every child is cast. No prior experience needed.

Student Learning Opportunities

This summer we are introducing a new aspect of the regular camp program for some of the interested students. Registering with a “Student Learning Roles” students will continue to be part of the everyday camp experiences and fun, but will choose to focus and learn on a behind-the-scene or leadership area of the show. In addition to being fun and productive, this experience will help hone skills. Students may do BOTH performing and role leadership.

The Mr. Liam Pickett Theatre Library

We have decided to start a modest and simple script library for kids to borrow outside of the camp (i.e. over the weekends). The scripts should provide an accessible way to explore other theater and learn about character development, staging, story, as well as the joy of reading. While learning the current production is important, this reading is purely recreational with unintentional benefits. These scripts have been purchased or generously donated over the years, and they are available to support students who want to explore theatre.

In general, scripts are a great way to strengthen reading skills, discover new stories, and learn how different plays and musicals are structured. They are short, engaging, and perfect for weekend reading or quiet time at home.
